For the Ninth Time, Commonwealth Financial Network® Named a Best Place to Work in Technology

WALTHAM, MA (June 23, 2015)—For the ninth consecutive year, Commonwealth Financial Network® has been ranked one of the Best Places to Work in IT by International Data Group’s Computerworld. Commonwealth is honored to be ranked the No. 3 firm to work for among small organizations (defined as having fewer than 1,000 U.S. employees) in the U.S.

In addition to naming Commonwealth as the top firm to work for in New England, the leading technology publication gave the firm a nationwide ranking of No. 2 for training, No. 4 for retention, and No. 5 for career development—areas critical for an employer to ensure meaningful careers for its employees.

The Best Places to Work in IT list is an annual ranking of the top 100 work environments for technology professionals by Computerworld. The list is compiled based on a comprehensive questionnaire regarding company offerings in categories such as benefits, career development, training, and retention. In addition, responses to extensive surveys of IT workers factor heavily in determining the rankings.

“It is an honor to be recognized as a leading company to work for by technology professionals nine years in a row,” said Darren Tedesco, managing principal, innovation and strategy, at Commonwealth. “It gives me a great sense of pride to see Commonwealth continually move up in rank on this list while simultaneously growing our team at a healthy pace. This tells me that we’re not just hiring the right people, but we’re expanding our Technology team the right way—offering rewarding career opportunities in a supportive, connected, and engaging environment—and that’s hugely validating of our goals and team-building strategy.”

Wayne Bloom, CEO of Commonwealth, stated, “To hold such a high rank in this list of impressive national firms is a remarkable achievement. Our selective hiring process assures our unwavering commitment to quality and community—two pillars of Commonwealth’s culture.”

Bloom continued, “Each member of the Commonwealth community plays a key role in our success and the success of our advisors, and I extend a sincere thank-you to our IT staff who build and manage our integrated technology programs and platforms, as well as to the entire Commonwealth team for providing consistent, indispensable support to our 1,600 financial advisors and their staff nationwide.”

In all, Commonwealth has been recognized 30 times as a “Best Place to Work” by top regional publications, including the Boston Globe, Boston Business Journal, San Diego Business Journal, Union-Tribune San Diego, and Computerworld.
