For the Eighth Time, Commonwealth Financial Network® Named a Best Place to Work in Technology
Waltham, MA (June 25, 2014)—For the eighth consecutive year, Commonwealth Financial Network® has been ranked one of the Best Places to Work in Information Technology (IT) by International Data Group’s Computerworld. Commonwealth is honored to be ranked the #5 firm to work for among small organizations in the United States, defined as having fewer than 1,000 U.S. employees. Overall, Commonwealth was named the #15 firm of any size and the top firm to work for in New England by the leading technology publication.
The “Best Places to Work in IT” list is an annual ranking of the top 100 work environments for technology professionals by Computerworld. The list is compiled based on a comprehensive questionnaire regarding company offerings in categories such as benefits, career development, training, and retention. In addition, responses to extensive surveys of IT workers factor heavily in determining the rankings.
Darren Tedesco, managing principal, innovation and strategy at Commonwealth, stated, “To be recognized as a leading company to work for by technology professionals, for the eighth straight year, is a remarkable achievement for Commonwealth. We have built our platforms from the ground up, and our entire technology department—150 strong and counting—shares a passion for creating new applications, capabilities, and enhancements that improve the experience for our advisors and fellow employees and enhance their productivity and service for their clients.”
Tedesco added, “We are continually a Best Place to Work winner because of the emphasis we place on hiring the best and brightest, and we have worked diligently and invested heavily to create a culture of honesty, integrity, accountability, and, of course, reward.”
“We are proud to maintain our place in this exclusive, national list,” said Wayne Bloom, CEO of Commonwealth. “At Commonwealth, we find that investing in our staff is equally as important as investing in our operations—our employees are the future of our business.”
Bloom continued, “To be named in this list year after year affirms Commonwealth’s prioritization of making career-enhancing opportunities available to like-minded professionals who strive to make an impact in the industry. Our technology-focused initiatives enhance our internal operations and provide business-critical support to our affiliated financial advisors and their staff who rely on our platforms to effectively run their practices. I extend my most sincere thanks to our IT staff who drive the smooth execution of our technology programs and platforms, as well as to the entire Commonwealth team who, collectively, drive our business forward.”
In all, Commonwealth has been recognized 26 times as a Best Place to Work by top regional publications, including the Boston Globe, Boston Business Journal, San Diego Business Journal, Union-Tribune San Diego, and Computerworld.
