Work in San Diego, California
San Diego, CA (November 12, 2013)—Commonwealth Financial Network®, the nation’s largest privately held independent broker/dealer–RIA, is pleased to announce that it has been named San Diego’s 2013 Top Workplace by the U-T (Union-Tribune) San Diego. This is the first year that Commonwealth has been considered for the award.
Overall, Commonwealth’s San Diego office was honored as the #1 small-size firm (between 50 and 100 employees) to work for. Additionally, Commonwealth received a special award for ethics—a recognition accepted with great pride.
The U–T San Diego’s Top Workplaces are determined solely by employee feedback. The employee survey is conducted by WorkplaceDynamics, LLP, a leading research firm on organizational health and employee engagement.
“To be honored in this way speaks volumes to the caliber of people who make up our organization,” said Kate Creagh, managing principal, human resources at Commonwealth. “We strive to maintain a positive, engaging, and fulfilling environment for our employees, and we carefully select individuals who we feel will thrive in this setting, add value and support colleagues, and care for our clients. This award validates our efforts, and we couldn’t be more proud of our San Diego team.”
In all, Commonwealth has been recognized 24 times as a Best Places to Work by top regional publications, including the U-T San Diego, Boston Globe, Boston Business Journal, and San Diego Business Journal, as well as by the IT industry’s leading publication, Computerworld. And, in April 2013, Commonwealth was ranked “Highest in Independent Advisor Satisfaction Among Financial Investment Firms, Three Times In a Row” by J.D. Power and Associates.
John Rooney, managing principal of Commonwealth’s San Diego office said, “We have certainly come a long way since we opened our doors here on the West Coast in 2000. It is through the collective effort of our team that we have created the dynamic organization we are today—and we continue to strive to be the best at everything we do.”
Rooney continued, “Perhaps what makes me most proud, though, is the special award we received for ethics. In a competition among companies from many industries (including nonprofit organizations), it’s especially gratifying as a financial services firm to be singled out for such recognition. Our firm was founded to service independent advisors who put their clients’ needs first—and everyone here lives that mission, acting with honesty and integrity day in and day out.”
