Commonwealth Announces New Flexible Financing Options to Enable Advisors’ Growth and Succession Planning

Waltham, MA (June 15, 2022)—Commonwealth Financial Network®, a national firm dedicated to providing financial advisors with holistic, integrated business solutions, announces the launch of a new suite of flexible financing options. The Entrepreneurial Capital program provides the financial backing advisors need to achieve the vision they have for their practice without the need to work with an outside lender.

The new offering, which includes three types of loans as well as equity financing, comes in response to direct feedback from advisors who need help funding the next phase of their business. It involves a simple underwriting process, competitive rates, and swift approval and payment with complete flexibility in how they use those funds.

We want to give advisors the leverage they need for whatever they’re planning without the control associated with traditional capital lending and investment.
Matt Chisholm, senior vice president, RIA services and practice management

“We want to give advisors the leverage they need for whatever they’re planning without the control associated with traditional capital lending and investment,” said Matt Chisholm, senior vice president, RIA services and practice management. “Whether it’s growth or succession planning, advisors should be able to maintain optionality and independence to realize their vision while continuing to run their business the way they want.”

The program provides advisors with the capital they need to evolve their practice—this could include expanding their operations, hiring additional staff, acquiring another practice, or planning their exit from the business. With an estimated 37 percent of financial advisors expected to retire in the next 10 years, there’s a growing need for funding in order to finance a transition to their successors.

“For advisors thinking about succession, we can help them navigate their options and ensure a smooth transition to the next generation,” said Chisholm. “By guiding advisors through aspects, such as structure, valuation, financing, and terms, we can help them create a lasting legacy after they retire.”

Advisors who wish to participate in the program will work directly with the firm’s team of consultants. A thorough discovery process identifies the scope of the business needs and customizes the debt or equity funding solutions to fit the specific objectives of the advisor and their practice.
