Flexibility, connection, and a focus on the future were emphasized throughout this premier three-week event.

2021 National PR landscape

Waltham, MA (November 16, 2021)—Commonwealth Financial Network®, a national firm dedicated to providing advisor-focused business solutions, celebrated its community of advisors for thriving in a challenging year at its annual National Conference, held virtually from October 25 to November 11, 2021.

Commonwealth and its more than 2,000 affiliated advisors have seen tremendous growth throughout 2021. CEO Wayne Bloom reported that fee revenue is up 28 percent year-to-date; Preferred Portfolio Services® (PPS), its managed account platform, has grown to more than $155 billion; and total assets under its advisors’ purview now exceed a quarter of a trillion dollars.*

Our advisors have accomplished outstanding work during these unprecedented times, supporting their clients, running their businesses, and giving back to their communities. We thank them for allowing us to be a trusted partner, for all they bring to our community, and for all that they do for their clients.

"Our advisors have accomplished outstanding work during these unprecedented times—supporting their clients, running their businesses, and giving back to their communities,” Bloom said. “We thank them for allowing us to be a trusted partner, for all they bring to our community, and for all that they do for their clients.”

The annual conference is Commonwealth’s premier advisor event, and this year delivered a highly immersive experience.  Attendees engaged in more than 95 live and on-demand sessions led by more than 70 speakers. Offerings spanned educational content, keynote presentations from Commonwealth’s leadership, panel discussions, and networking opportunities.

Leadership shared key updates on Commonwealth's innovative and customized suite of offerings for advisors. This included the firm’s cloud-first strategy for delivering digital solutions that improve advisor productivity, critical cybersecurity initiatives to keep advisors and their clients safe, and the firm's commitment to helping advisors navigate the regulatory landscape, meet compliance needs, and future-proof their businesses.

“In listening to our advisors, we knew that providing meaningful content that attendees could engage with—in a format that comfortably fit into their busy day-to-day schedules—would be essential for a successful conference experience,” said Jessica Fougere, vice president, conferences, events, and community. “With these needs in mind, we extended our conference across three weeks and developed an on-demand library of sessions, allowing advisors to view more than 50 hours of educational content at their convenience. We’re thankful for all who partnered with us and contributed to the success of this virtual event, and we look forward to safely gathering our entire community in the future.”

Additional presentations and panels covered trending advisor topics, including adapting for the practice of the future, leveraging opportunities with ESG investing, strategizing community integration practices for business growth, creating scale and capacity, winning acquisition opportunities, and understanding multigenerational planning opportunities.

In support of companies that inspire through sustainability and outreach, Commonwealth curated attendee gifts from businesses that make their products locally, invest in employees within their community, work with recycled materials, and give back a portion of their profits to protecting the planet.

In keeping with Commonwealth’s longstanding tradition of recognizing outstanding leadership in one’s field and community, Nichole Raftopoulos, president and CEO of Nvest Financial Group in Kennebunk, Maine, was honored with the 2021 Special Service Award. “From serving on Commonwealth’s Advisor and Women’s councils to her involvement with women’s and animal shelters, pro-bono work for U.S. veterans, and providing troops with supplies through Operation: With Love From Home, Nichole tirelessly serves her community,” said Bloom. “We couldn’t be prouder to have her and the Nvest team be part of our Commonwealth family.”
