American Society of Business Publication Editors presents
four Azbee Awards of Excellence to Commonwealth Financial Network®’s proprietary publication,

Commonwealth Business Review

Waltham, Mass. (August 20, 2008) —Commonwealth Financial Network’s proprietary bimonthly publication, the Commonwealth Business Review (CBR), received four Azbee Awards of Excellence from the American Society of Business Publication Editors (ASBPE). The CBR was judged nationally against business publications across all industries and business sectors. It received the highest honor, Gold, in Newsletter Design, as well as three awards in the categories of Newsletter Editorial:

Technical/How-To Article: Silver)— “The Psychological Side of Retirement,” by Kol Birke, Commonwealth’s advisor technology liaison

News Analysis, Investigative, Research Article: Silver)— “Thin-Slicing REITs,” by Chad LaFauci, Commonwealth’s senior alternative investments analyst

News Analysis, Investigative, Research Article: Bronze)— “Investing in the Pacific Rim,” by Brian Price, Commonwealth’s senior investment research analyst
“We’ve always been proud of the CBR and the value it offers to our advisors and their businesses,” said Kate Flood, editor-in-chief of the CBR. “But to receive these awards is truly an honor.”

Editorial content for the CBR is 100-percent contributed by members of Commonwealth’s home office staff, and the newsletter is designed by the firm’s in-house corporate marketing team. It is distributed free of charge six times per year to Commonwealth’s advisors and select industry partners.

“Rarely does an issue of the CBR come out that there isn’t information I can put into action within the next seven days. It’s that timely and informative,” said Gary Ruchin, president of Ruchin and Associates and Commonwealth advisor of 23 years. “The CBR is nothing short of the Gold standard other companies can only look at and admire from afar.”

Each edition of the CBR is assigned a theme that aligns with current events happening in the financial services industry. Its goal is to provide a forum for dialogue, discussion, and information that Commonwealth advisors can use to grow their businesses, remain compliant, stay abreast of technological advancements, and keep up with changes in the investment world.
