- The American Red Cross has already delivered materials for a field hospital, as well as blankets, hygiene items, buckets, and shelter supplies for an initial 20,000 families. The organization will continue to provide additional supplies through staging areas in the Dominican Republic and will coordinate efforts to deliver clean drinking water to survivors.
- Oxfam has a staff of approximately 200 people in Haiti, including a group of highly experienced emergency specialists. This emergency team is supporting rescue efforts, assessing the damage, and responding with public health, water, and sanitation services to prevent the spread of waterborne diseases.
- Appropriate Infrastructure Development Group (AIDG) helps individuals and communities get affordable and environmentally sound access to electricity, sanitation, and clean water. Through a combination of business incubation, education, and outreach, the group provides people with technology that will better their health and improve their lives.
