In Sea of Change, Commonwealth Remains Steady
Commonwealth Financial Network® Once Again Named the #1 Best Place to Work
San Diego, CA. (May 27, 2009) —While the last eight months have brought a record number of changes to the financial services industry, one statistic remains steady. Commonwealth Financial Network ® (Commonwealth) is a Best Place to Work. On May 25, 2009, the San Diego Business Journal named Commonwealth the #1 Best Place to Work in the midsize category.
“We’ve always understood that in order to provide indispensible service to our advisors, we would first have to create a satisfying and engaging environment for our staff,” said John Rooney, Commonwealth’s managing principal, San Diego.
This year’s honor joins the following list of public acknowledgments for Commonwealth:
- Commonwealth is the #1 midsize company on the Boston Globe’s inaugural 2008 top 100 Places to Work list.
- Annually, from 2004 through 2008, the Boston Business Journal has named Commonwealth a Best Place to Work in Massachusetts—making it the only midsize company to have been honored for five consecutive years.
- And, in 2009, for the third consecutive year, Computerworld named Commonwealth a Best Place to Work in IT among small companies (those with fewer than 2,500 employees).
“While many employers have had to scale back in 2009, we’ve continued to invest in the professional and personal development of every Commonwealth employee, from a weeklong new employee orientation program to tuition reimbursement, sponsoring FINRA and other industry designations, and onsite wellness classes,” said Rooney. “Our advisors receive the highest level of service from home office staff that is supported at every level.”
Commonwealth advisors also remain happy with the level of service they receive from Commonwealth employees. As such, in 2009, the satisfaction rating Commonwealth received from each advisor during the company’s annual compliance audit has not wavered from the firm’s average of 95 percent.
Founded in 1979, Commonwealth Financial Network, member FINRA/SIPC, is celebrating its 30th anniversary as a leading, privately owned independent broker/dealer, with offices in Waltham, Massachusetts, and San Diego, California. The firm supports more than 1,200 independent registered representatives nationwide and makes available a comprehensive array of financial products and services.
