Commonwealth Adds Widgets to Advisor Technology Platform
Commonwealth Financial Network® launches widget functionality on advisor Web portal
Waltham, MA. (April 27, 2010) —Advisors affiliated with Commonwealth Financial Network can now create their own customized version of COMMunity Link, Commonwealth’s advisor Web portal. With the launch of widget functionality, advisors can tailor the homepage of COMMunity Link to reflect the pieces of information and workflow tools that best fit their needs. Widgets are a convenient way to organize information, and Commonwealth advisors can now choose what is displayed on their homepage, as well as arrange and rearrange those elements to make their use of the website more efficient.
“Widgets provide the technology to move away from a one-size-fits-all website, allowing our advisors to create the website they want,” said Darren Tedesco, Commonwealth’s vice president of innovation and strategy.
Utilizing widgets reduces the amount of clicks advisors need to achieve a specific goal. Additionally, many of the widgets can be customized to a user’s preferences. Popular widgets include Alerts, Market Summary, Work in Progress, Last Households Viewed, and Commission Snapshot.
“With widgets, what you see is what you get,” said Tedesco. “Advisors can add and drag these Web parts on the page and instantly get the gratification of seeing the page as they want it to look.”
Commonwealth saves the widget settings so that they are accessible from any computer an advisor uses to log in to COMMunity Link.
