Fiction: I don't have a lot of money, so I don't need a will.
Fact: Even if you do not have a large estate, there are many reasons to complete a will. If you have children and die without a will, most states will select a guardian for your children—and for your children's inheritance—and that person may not be your choice. Additionally, without a will, the state will decide who gets your property and in what manner.
