My smartphone is safe enough, so there’s no reason to create a password for it.

Although basic, setting your phone to lock after a certain period of time and requiring a strong password or PIN to get back in is an information security best practice. Not only will you make it more difficult for someone to access the information on your phone if it’s lost or stolen (they’ll have to guess your password, after all!), but you’ll give yourself more time to remotely track or wipe your device.
