Fact: Understandably, parents want to provide for their children. There are other resources for education costs, including loans, grants, and scholarships. These options are not available for your retirement plan and long-term goals, however.

As a parent, you are doing your children a favor by planning for your retirement, including having adequate insurance (long-term care and other forms) that will ensure your physical and financial needs will be met.
