Web Analytics and Technology Specialist
The Web Services and Usability department is responsible for all aspects of the layout and navigation of Commonwealth’s Web-based products and services, ensuring the best possible user experience. They share best practices with advisors to help them create and continuously improve their own websites.

As a web analytics and technology specialist, your responsibilities would include:
- Acting as the hands-on technical resource for implementation and maintenance of the team’s technical tools, including Web analytics and site search (both Omniture and other technology products)
- Ensuring that our code and tools are properly configured; solving technical reporting issues; creating scheduled and ad hoc reports; presenting information in user-friendly formats
- Working closely with content owners, designers, developers, our Usability team, and others to design and implement appropriate approaches to collecting metrics that support decision making
- Training our business users on the analytics tools available to them and supporting them in their own reporting efforts
- Working closely with the Usability team and content owners to define, design, implement, and report on technical enhancements that deliver an exceptional site search experience to our users
- Contributing to the implementation and maintenance of other technical tools, such as content management and forums
- Providing technical expertise to the team, as needed
The ideal candidate would also meet the following requirements:
- 3–5 years of experience working on the Web
- At least 3 years professional experience using standard Web analytics tools
- A solid understanding of industry standards regarding Web analytics and site search
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to distill complex data scenarios into clear and understandable information
- Familiarity with a range of technical products, including content management, a plus
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to manage several projects simultaneously; good prioritization skills
- Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining quality standards
- Self motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team
- An innovative and creative thinker
- Highly motivated, with a positive, can-do attitude
- Bachelor’s degree, required
