The trade review principal reviews investment business (check and application) for Commonwealth brokers who invest directly with mutual fund companies, sponsor firms (for annuities), and direct participation programs. He or she also processes third-party paperwork for advisory accounts held outside of our clearing relationships, establishing PPS Retirement Solutions accounts and PPS Variable Annuity accounts. In addition to working with Account Services, this role involves working closely with Compliance and Product throughout the review process.

The successful candidate will be excited to own the direct investment process to ensure that daily deadlines are met (reviewing all investments for suitability, signing off on business, and ensuring that the final package is complete and mailed).

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, overseeing the direct investment workflow to ensure that all requirements and standards are met by our brokers and home office staff, final review and sign-off on investment applications and subscription agreements, developing process improvement recommendations to enhance department workflow, and working with brokers to resolve escalated issues surrounding these investments.

Requirements:

  • FINRA Series 7, 24, and either 51, 53, 63, or 66 securities licenses, required
  • Must have at least two years of operations/processing experience
  • Familiarity with the current regulatory environment as it relates to client suitability in the financial services industry
  • Attention to detail that stands out as a top skill!
  • Desire to be responsible for tasks from beginning to end, attending to each and every detail
  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral
  • Stand-out phone personality
  • Must be able to solve problems in an efficient and professional manner
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office basics (Word, Excel)
