Quality Assurance Engineer
The Business Planning and Development department manages all of Commonwealth's relationships with our industry product partners.

As a quality assurance engineer, your responsibilities would include:

• Working closely with stakeholders to create testing plans based on architecture and requirement documents
• Managing and enhancing the automation environment and test cases
• Effectively planning, managing risks, and controlling resources
• Effectively creating, communicating, and distributing reports to stakeholders
• Effectively managing meetings
• Managing bugs and the bug lifecycle
• Personally creating and executing test cases

The ideal candidate would also meet the following requirements:

• 5+ years’ experience in information services/technology; financial industry experience, a plus
• College degree in computer science, or related field
• Can-do attitude; a creative problem solver with strong analytical skills
• Great team player
• Ability to quickly learn new systems, technology, and methods
• Good organizational skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail, with ability to follow through
• A demonstrated sense of responsibility, focus on delivery, and the ability to act independently with minimal direction
• Ability to handle multiple projects and function effectively in a fast-paced environment

Specific skills:

• Experience running testing on large projects
• Familiarity with Microsoft suite of development technologies, including .NET applications, distributed Web-based systems, and SQL Server
• Experience using and implementing defect resolution systems
• Experience with load-testing tools for Web-based systems
• Familiarity with database development and concepts, preferably using SQL Server
• Familiarity with adaptive or agile methodologies, strongly desired
• Experience with both manual testing and using automated testing tools, desired
