Commitment to Quality, Community, and Creativity Earns Commonwealth Highest Employee Satisfaction Rating
The Boston Globe Ranks Commonwealth Financial Network the #1 Midsize Place to Work in Massachusetts

Waltham, Mass. (November 12, 2008) —Despite national economic uncertainty, Commonwealth Financial Network®’s home office employees are extremely satisfied with their place of employment, according to the Boston Sunday Globe, which published the first-ever Globe 100’s Top Places to Work listing on November 9, 2008. Commonwealth earned the distinction of being named the #1 Midsize Place to Work in Massachusetts. The most progressive companies in the state were ranked based solely on employee opinions about company leadership, compensation and training, career development, family-friendly flexibility, and values and ethics. Among the top 100 companies, Commonwealth ranked:

  • #1 Midsize company
  • #2 Overall
  • #2 Workplace diversity
  • #5 Career development opportunities
“It’s so gratifying that during a time of crisis and uncertainty, Commonwealth can nurture and foster its people,” said Joseph Deitch, Commonwealth’s chairman and CEO. “This is confirmation that Commonwealth has not wavered from its core value of maintaining a supportive environment where both our home office employees and advisors can thrive. After all, our people are the foundation of everything we accomplish at Commonwealth.”

More than 120,000 employees from over 600 companies submitted surveys to be considered for this distinction. This marks the first time that a Globe 100 report honors private as well as publicly held organizations.

“It’s clear that Commonwealth values its employees and makes it a priority to create a positive workplace,” said P. Steven Ainsley, publisher of the Boston Globe.

The Globe ranking comes at the heels of Commonwealth’s recognition as a Best Place to Work by the Boston Business Journal for its fifth consecutive year and a Best Place to Work in IT by Computerworld for its second straight year.

“Each award provides a benchmark as to how Commonwealth is performing in the eyes of its employees,” said Deitch. “I take nothing for granted, especially as the market continues to unfold, and feel reassured that our employees value the vision, management, and financial stability behind Commonwealth.”
