Chemo Caps for Kids ![]()
Welcome!
It all started with one colleague’s very personal connection to pediatric cancer—and now, more than 2,000 caps later, we’re still going strong.
One Hat. Many Moments.
A single handmade hat is a powerful demonstration of compassion for a sick child. Multiply that by hundreds of people knitting, and the result is, literally, thousands of such special moments for children who feel the joy of knowing someone has given them a gift handmade with love and care. What began in 2009 as an effort to help patients at Boston’s Dana-Farber Pediatric Cancer Unit has grown into a widespread effort benefiting many more children at hospitals across the country. We’re now up to 2,143 caps, which translate into thousands of those special “moments”—like the joy on a child’s face when she picks one out and puts it on. Or the smile on parents’ faces when they see their child acting like a kid again. Or the relief a child feels when he’s wearing the cap and his cancer is no longer on display for the world to see. Every hat we donate is made up of moments like these—and that’s what makes this program so special. Join Our Community Effort
From Commonwealth home office employees and their families and friends to our affiliated advisors and their clients, staff, families, and friends, Chemo Caps has united all of us in a common goal, and we invite anyone who wants to participate to join us.
2,000+ and Going Strong!
